Practice Compassionate Communication

Many people live their lives feeling invisible, unheard, and unseen. Some people are naturally able to let themselves be seen and heard, and for others, it’s a much harder task. In couples coaching, I help both of you find your voices and learn how to connect on a deeper level.

Identify problematic patterns

Dr. Gottman outlines the essential elements of a healthy relationship. Being able to identify the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Criticism, Defensiveness, Contempt and Stonewalling. Being able to identify the Four Horsemen in your conflict discussions is a necessary first step to eliminating them and replacing them with healthy, productive communication patterns. Overcome Obstacles

Developing your innate ability to restore mental and emotional equanimity when you get knocked off balance is one key to living a fulfilling life and having a healthy relationship.

In our coaching, I guide you to develop your resilience muscles and tackle problems head-on. Dealing with challenging communication, conflict or obstacles in your relationship is part of what can bring you both together.

When your resilience is high, you can overcome overwhelm and eliminate stress and recover more quickly from arguments or conflicts in your relationship.

Energy goes where attention flows, and no one has time for regrets. When you are present with your feelings you become clear about what’s important to you and you can build trust and understanding

My influences include Compassionate Communication with Marshal Rosenberg, Neurolinguistic Programming techniques, the work of anthropologist and human behavior researcher Helen Fisher along with, David Deida, spiritual teacher on masculine and feminine polarities and intimate unions, along with and many more wonderful authors and leaders in the field of love and relationships.
